House on the Hill

The houses on the hill packed so tight

There’s more to this … more to life

the water so cold, dark and blue…

yet tainted and grey, polluted by man

here I sit, but can’t understand

I feel so much, deep in side…

like a little boy my soul begins to cry…

I beg and I plead why god why…

But he’s not to blame… for will he gave…

the only blame is I…

My lights somewhere in there… I see a faint flicker

Little do I know I beat it, mashed it and locked it away..

tight in a cage, no light shown through…

tight in that cage, the key…

away I threw…

so here I sit… clouds dot the sky… far and few…

but behind me, dark and gray, midnight blue…

the visualization of a battered past so true…

Only I can do it… Make that light shine through…

Maybe tomorrow, but now not do…

I see these house now… the nice ones are few…
